Glyxambi (empagliflozin and linagliptin) is a combination of an inhibitor of the sodium-glucose co-transporter (SGLT2) and an inhibitor of the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) enzyme used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Common side effects of Glyxambi include:

• urinary tract infection
• common cold symptoms
• upper respiratory tract infections
• genital yeast infection
• increased urination
• joint pain
• nausea
• runny or stuffy nose
• diarrhea
• cough
• elevated blood cholesterol or fat
• diarrhea

The recommended dose of Glyxambi is 10 mg empagliflozin/5 mg linagliptin once daily in the morning, taken with or without food. In patients tolerating Glyxambi, the dose may be increased to 25 mg empagliflozin/5 mg linagliptin once daily.

Glyxambi may interact with diuretics and strong P-gp or CYP3A4 inducers. Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use.

The dose you are given will depend on your condition, blood sugar levels and what other medicines you are taking. Taking it with meals helps to reduce the chances of developing an upset stomach.

You should take it regularly, at the same time each day, to get the most benefit and you should not stop unless your doctor recommends it. It is controlling your blood sugar levels and helping to prevent serious complications in the future. It is important to stay on the diet and exercise program recommended by your doctor while taking this medicine. Your lifestyle plays a big part in controlling diabetes.

The most common side effects of taking this medicine include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, headache, blocked nose, and sore throat. Low blood sugar level (hypoglycemia) is a possible side effect if you are also taking other diabetes medicines like insulin or sulphonylurea, so you need to know how to recognize and deal with it.

Trajenta is used to treat type-2 diabetes with the following antidiabetes medicines when blood sugar levels are not already adequately controlled by diet, exercise and these antidiabetes medicines taken alone:

• metformin;
• metformin and a sulphonylurea;
• insulin, either on its own or together with metformin.

Trajenta is also used on its own in patients whose blood sugar levels are not adequately controlled by diet and exercise alone and who cannot be treated with metformin because they cannot tolerate it or because they have kidney problems.

Canagliflozin is used with a proper diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Canagliflozin is also used by people with type 2 diabetes and heart disease to lower the risk of death from heart attack or stroke. Canagliflozin is also used by people with type 2 diabetes and kidney disease to lower the risk of dialysis, death from heart disease, and the need to go to the hospital for heart failure. Canagliflozin works by increasing the removal of sugar by your kidneys.
How to use Canagliflozin Tablet

Take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually once daily before the first meal of the day. The dosage is based on your medical condition, response to treatment, and other medications you may be taking. Be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products).
Take this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time each day.
Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve or if it worsens (such as if your blood sugar remains high or increases).

Sulisent 100 mg is used in treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.

If you are already taking another diabetes drug (such as chlorpropamide), follow your doctor's directions carefully for stopping/continuing the old drug and starting metformin.

Amlodipine is used with or without other medications to treat high blood pressure. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Amlodipine belongs to a class of drugs known as calcium channel blockers. It works by relaxing blood vessels so blood can flow more easily.

Amlodipine is also used to prevent certain types of chest pain (angina). It may help to increase your ability to exercise and decrease the frequency of angina attacks. It should not be used to treat attacks of chest pain when they occur. Use other medications (such as sublingual nitroglycerin) to relieve attacks of chest pain as directed by your doctor.

Gliclazide modified release (MR) belongs to the class of medications called oral hypoglycemics. It is used for the control of blood glucose in people with type 2 diabetes. It is used when diet, exercise, and weight reduction have not been found to control blood glucose well enough without medication. Gliclazide MR increases the amount of insulin released by the pancreas and helps the body use insulin more efficiently.
